Growth Engineer

  • Location: Miami, FL (on-site or hybrid options)
  • Department: Growth and Engineering
  • Employment type: Full-time

About Gideon Defender

Most cybersecurity management is reactive, buried in fragmented alerts, manual compliance checklists, and slow triage.

At Gideon Defender, we are changing that model by building an intelligent, proactive cybersecurity platform that automates defense workflows, streamlines threat visibility, and gives engineering and security teams their time back.

Backed by elite tech investors, we are hiring ambitious, highly technical builders who want to engineer growth from the ground up and help define how modern enterprises secure their infrastructure.

About the role

The Growth Engineer sits at the intersection of data analytics, growth engineering, revenue systems, and automated experimentation.

You will turn messy market inputs, product-led usage signals, and conversion funnels into structured, automated, repeatable systems that accelerate pipeline and revenue.

If you enjoy solving ambiguous business problems with data, logic, APIs, and automation, this role is built for you.

What you will actually do

Growth systems and analytics

  • Design and instrument data pipelines and GTM systems to track and optimize the journey from discovery to active platform adoption.
  • Analyze funnel performance across acquisition, activation, product-led expansion, and customer conversion.
  • Partner closely with core engineering and product using usage analytics, experimentation, and systems thinking to influence roadmap decisions.
  • Build data models and real-time dashboards that expose hidden leverage points in acquisition and retention loops.

Experimentation and optimization

  • Design, build, and run structured experiments across channels, target personas, and ICP segments.
  • Define success metrics, analyze complex datasets, and translate findings into durable, scalable code.
  • Identify failure modes, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in funnels, then engineer automated fixes.

Automation and internal tooling

  • Build internal tools, webhooks, and custom integrations that increase growth velocity.
  • Use AI agents and LLM orchestration workflows to automate lead intelligence, signal tracking, and outbound execution.
  • Eliminate manual operational work by replacing ad hoc processes with scalable, version-controlled systems.

What success looks like

  • Pipeline velocity and conversion paths become predictable, instrumented, and measurable.
  • GTM execution runs on rigorous data, engineering principles, and automation rather than guesswork.
  • High-performing experiments graduate into durable infrastructure.
  • Growth is operated as a core engineering discipline.

The profile we are looking for

This role is for an execution-oriented builder with strong engineering instincts and a passion for data systems.

You likely have

  • 1+ years in a technical growth, software engineering, data analytics, or revenue engineering role.
  • A strong technical foundation in computer science, applied math, quantitative analytics, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
  • Advanced scripting and data fluency with Python, API integrations, SQL, and messy real-world datasets.
  • System design experience building or improving data architectures and product analytics funnels (for example Segment, PostHog, Amplitude, or custom pipelines).

You are

  • A builder who prefers shipping clean code and functional systems over slide decks and theory.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by complex, open-ended problems.
  • Ownership-driven, and quick to fix broken scripts, uninstrumented funnels, and manual processes.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: USD 170,000 to USD 185,000 per year, based on experience.
  • Competitive equity options in a fast-growing cybersecurity startup.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • High-performance hardware setup of your choice.

Pre-Sales Engineer

  • Location: Miami, FL (on-site or hybrid options), LATAM coverage
  • Department: Sales Engineering
  • Employment type: Full-time

About Gideon Defender

Gideon Defender helps enterprise teams move from reactive cybersecurity operations to an autonomous, proactive security model.

Our platform unifies identity, endpoint posture, access governance, and automated workflows so teams can reduce risk without adding operational drag.

We are building a technical go-to-market organization that pairs deep security expertise with disciplined execution, and we are looking for customer-facing engineers who can lead from discovery through proof-of-value.

About the role

The Pre-Sales Engineer is the technical backbone of our enterprise sales cycle, partnering with account teams and customer stakeholders from initial discovery to final technical validation.

You will translate complex security and infrastructure challenges into clear solution architectures, compelling demonstrations, and measurable proof-of-value outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable with deep technical conversations and executive-level value articulation.

What you will actually do

Technical sales execution

  • Lead the technical sales cycle across discovery, requirements mapping, RFP and RFI responses, solution design, demos, and proof-of-value engagements.
  • Build and present tailored solution architectures that address customer security, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Own technical qualification and risk identification early in the cycle to improve forecast quality and deal execution.

Customer and stakeholder communication

  • Translate complex security concepts into clear business outcomes for technical teams, security leaders, and executive buyers.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer engineering, IT, security, and procurement stakeholders across the buying process.
  • Support strategic account conversations with strong storytelling, clear technical tradeoff analysis, and credible recommendations.

Cross-functional collaboration and market feedback

  • Partner closely with product, engineering, customer success, and business development to ensure smooth handoffs and strong customer outcomes.
  • Capture field intelligence on competitor positioning, feature gaps, and emerging customer needs, then feed it into roadmap and enablement priorities.
  • Help build reusable demo assets, reference architectures, and technical playbooks that scale pre-sales execution across the team.

What success looks like

  • Technical evaluations move faster from discovery to validated business value.
  • Proof-of-value engagements are repeatable, measurable, and aligned to buyer priorities.
  • Customers view Gideon as a strategic security partner, not just a point solution.
  • Field feedback continuously improves product direction and sales effectiveness.

The profile we are looking for

This role is for a technically fluent, customer-obsessed builder who can bridge architecture depth with commercial execution.

You likely have

  • 5+ years in pre-sales for cybersecurity, enterprise software, networking, or adjacent infrastructure categories.
  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Hands-on experience with modern security and cloud environments, including web application security concepts and cloud platforms.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in business terms.
  • Familiarity with enterprise compliance and risk frameworks commonly used in regulated environments.

You are

  • A trusted technical advisor who builds credibility quickly across both engineers and executives.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating structure in complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Collaborative, accountable, and motivated by helping customers solve meaningful security challenges.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: USD 175,000 to USD 210,000 per year, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • High-performance hardware setup of your choice.
  • Travel support for customer engagements and strategic field events.
